Ben Ransom Releases Young Years Featuring Sharon O'Neill

Ben Ransom latest release

"Young Years" – is a duet with the New Zealand Hall of Famer and co-writer of the Dragon classic –Sharon O'Neill.

Sharon is no stranger to the airwaves and charts both in Australia and her native, New Zealand, thanks to hits including "Maxine" and "Physical Favours".

The song holds a special place in Ben’s heart – his Mum, who passed away from brain cancer – was cared for in the same palliative care unit by the same nurse who looked after Dragon’s Marc Hunter in his final days. Ben recorded the song on his current album which then found it’s way to Sharon – who loved it so much – she suggested recording it as a duet.

BEN Ransom, the very first signing for brand new label Country Rocks Records

In 2017 Ben joined with Country Rocks Records as their first signed artist to their newly formed label. “Let’s Go Driving”, was the first release under this new deal. It's a fun, country rock smash, which gave Ben his very first number one, staying at the top spot for six consecutive weeks.

"I'm absolutely stoked to be part of the Country Rocks family - knowing that I am associated with a team that actually walks the walk! These guys are out there putting in the hard slog, which is why their passion for music and ethos of 'respect' for the artists is so refreshing", he says.

A star studded night in Mildura saw Ben take out the Award for Best Male Rising Star for the 2016 Southern Star Awards. Felicity Urqhart presented Ben with the award with thanks from CRS Publicity, Festival organisers and festival co-ordinator John Arnold. An almost speechless Ben was overwhelmed when receiving the Award and later said that all the Artists involved are some of the finest musicians in Australia and some of the best company to be in. Well done to everyone involved.
